How to connect your Bluetooth PTT accessory to Motorola WAVE 5000

Posted on 2018-10-17 by Daniel Hackl

AINA’s Bluetooth Remote Speaker Microphone - Voice Responder - and PTT control - Smart Button - are compatible with Motorola WAVE 5000 5.12+

From radio networks to broadband (LTE) networks, from two-way radios to smartphones, WAVE 5000 creates a reliable connection. The WAVE 5000 team has made the AINA Wireless Voice Responder and Smart Button compatible PTT accessories with extended functionalities.

WAVE 5000 On-prem versus WAVE OnCloud 2.0

After the acquisition of Seattle based startup Twisted Pair in 2014, Motorola has developed the WAVE 5000 product into a platform to effectively communicate through voice, text and data – securely, reliably and in real time – regardless of network, carrier, protocol or device. Following Motorola’s more recent acquisition of Kodiak Networks in August 2017, the global market leader in two-way communication is positioning the WAVE 5000 platform to larger organizations with an on-premise solution while the Kodiak based platform WAVE OnCloud 2.0 is for customers that do not want to maintain the infrastructure.

Two-way Radio and PTT over LTE Interoperability as a focus

Motorola understands “that personnel that use a radio system for operational purposes do not need to carry a ruggedised radio handset all of the time” and therefore focuses on extensive interoperability between two-way radios and Push-to-talk over LTE.

This guide focuses on the WAVE 5000 on-premise solution and the right settings within the 5.12+ version on Android and iOS to have most seamless user experience between the PTT app and the PTT accessory.
